Spanish 3 - October 15, 2012

Many valuable resources are available within this blog, located at:
http:://www.scottspanish1ap4.blogspot.com. We also used another blog, located at http://www.scottspanish1bt3p3.blogspot.com. Feel free to write down these site addresses for later use. Below you will find the directions left by your instructor.
 
Record all answers on a seperate piece of paper.
  1. Listen to my Voki. What did I say?
  2. Create your own Voki at http://www.voki.com. You will need an account
    1. Change the lanaguage to Spanish and type in what you want to say after creating your character. Also, be sure to hit ENTER after each requirement so that your Voki is comprehendable.
      1. State the following:
        1. Name
        2. Age
        3. Birthday
        4. Physical Description
        5. Describe your family
        6. Describe your pets
        7. Describe your friends
        8. Describe your future endeavors (college you plan to attend)
      2. Here's an example:
        1. Me llamo.
        2. Tengo ....anos.
        3. Mi cumpleanos es el ....de .....
        4. Soy
        5. Mi papa se llama .....
        6. Mi mama se llama ...
        7. Tengo un gate se llama Kitty.
        8. Me gustan mis amigos.
        9. Voy a ir Michigan State.
  3. Go to songs. Listen to them, when you listen to K.Naan...give the translation for some of this song. You may find the lyrics and write some of the words down. If the songs will not play on the BHS network, skip this section.
  4. Go to games. Search through eache of the games and report on the ones you play. Be sure to play a game on each level. Decide which ones you like and jot them down.
  5. Go to homework help. Click on practice quizzes, it's the first link; spend lots of time here. Go to the right side of the page and click on fun and games. What games did you play and did you like them?
  6. Go to practice quizzes. Take the quiz and record the number you get correct.
  7. Continue to explore any and all things in both blogs located here (A) and here (B). Many things here could be of use to you, ranging from electronic flashcards to other review games.
  8. When you are ready to move on, go to the National Spanish Exam. Try working through these exams...start at the lower levels; these are good practice if you eventually take placement tests for college. Be sure to do at least four tests at various levels. Report what you find. How did you do? What did you find difficult?
  9. Go to the U.S. Department of State and read about the Dominican Republic. Read and then find answers to the following questions. This will be preparation for the DVD you will watch tomorrow.
    1. What is the capital?
    2. What is the population of the capital?
    3. What is the population of the country?
    4. What is the current type of government?
    5. What is the state region?
    6. What is Hispanola?
    7. Read the section of the history of the countries of the Dominican Republic and Haiti. Report what happened after 1930, who was Trujillo and how did he rule? What kind of government did he establish?
  10. Explore Dominican cooking and foods. Click here. What are the typical foods of the Dominican Republic? Describe what you see or read about.
  11. Watch/Listen to the following (If it will not play, skip this section.)
    1. Running of the bulls
      1. Your impressions?
    2. Mexico's Day of the Dead
      1. What did you see?
    3. Spain's La Tomantina
      1. Would you participate?
  12. You can continue to YouTube anything listed below, or you can go back to playing games or working with your Voki.
    1. Julio Iglesias
    2. Shakira
    3. Justo Llamas
  13. If you have time, move on to the Mexican Independence Day activity located here.
